Why Our Church

That Jesus May Be Glorified

Calvary Open Door Church is a caring community of believers, convinced of the unconditional love of God in Jesus, who said: “The one who comes to Me, I will never turn away.” (John 6:37)  Come as you are. We won’t try to change you.

Many people over the years have asked if we might have made a mistake in using the word “Calvary” in our church’s name, since so many churches using that name are not welcoming and affirming to all people. “It may scare people away!” they say.

You Are Welcome Here!

We welcome all who come in peace, regardless of race, color, gender, political affiliation, religious background, or sexual orientation. All are welcomed with open hearts, open arms and open minds.
